Expect to be relaxed!! I will help you feel as comfortable as possible.

For Acupuncture, please wear comfortable or loose fitting clothing.  The first session is 90 minutes and follow-ups are 60 minutes.  Paperwork is required, prior to the first visit. Please see the new patient section for paperwork.  I do a comprehensive health history and we talk about what is bringing you in.  I will then settle you on the table, face up at first, take your pulse and do a palpation exam on the abdomen, neck, and wherever you may be having pain.  This helps me to see what is blocked or deficient in the body, and this helps guide the points that I choose, for your treatment. Every treatment is different, for each person.  The number of needles depends on what I find and how the body is responding to treatment.  Once the needles are in the front, I let the patient rest for 15-20 minutes.  I then treat the back.  The back responds quicker than the front of the body, and only takes about 10-15 minutes.  At times, I start with the back of the body first, and spend more time there.  Again, every patient is different, and I tailor the treatment, to what your body needs. Nothing is set in stone, when it comes to acupuncture.  I may also add in other therapies, if I feel that you need them.  Please see the Therapies Offered page, for a description.

Once the treatment is finished, I will see how you feel.  I never know how patients are going to respond to acupuncture.  You may feel nothing after the first treatment, or you may feel great.  A treatment plan will be discussed once I see how you respond to the treatment.  I usually suggest a weekly treatment, in the beginning, but how many you will need, will need to be decided as we go. I tell my patients to think of a series of  8-10 treatments but just know that this could be less or more, depending on how you are responding. I will never leave you in the dark.  I will discuss what I feel that you need, at every treatment.

For Reiki, treatments are done over clothing and last about 60 minutes.  There is no paperwork to fill out for Reiki.  I gather information from you about the reason for your visit.  This treatment starts face up. I will do a kinesiology exam, that shows me which Chakras are out of balance.  It involves a light touch on the head, all of the joints of the body, and the abdomen.  Once I am finished with the front of the body, I will treat the back of the body.  This involves a light touch to the back.  People can feel many things during a treatment, such as heat coming from the practitioners hands, or movement of energy.  Most people feel very relaxed.  I may give suggestions as to things you can do to keep the Chakras aligned.
